PaulI thought I was the only person who called Dickie Kerr the Ninth Man Out. I called him that in an ebay auction where I was selling his E122 American Caramel card. My understanding from various stories on the internet is that he went barnstorming in the 1921 or 1922 off-season to make a little extra money. Because of this, he was banned by Landis. He was actually a rookie in 1919, did extremely well during the regular season and won both games he pitched in the Series. There's no question he was clean. He just found a different way than the others to deal with Comiskey's penny pinching, but got the same result.
