I think this thread is a terrific example of the wonder of this board -- commentary on a fascinating topic (Black Sox) by experts from around the country. Thanks again to Elliot, Bill, Leon & Brian for all their efforts.

Not that there's anything wrong about the Iraq thread(s). Personally, I appreciate Leon allowing them to run their course. I think they serve a valuable function, if only to allow bright, concerned folks to vent their views.
