1989 topps joe's idea of looking at the OC website is what you should do. but really ,there is no vintage (pre wwII) set that is really cheap and easy to do. low grade 35 goudey or diamond stars w/o the last High #'s,come to mind but even these aren't cheap! really the thing to do is find a set you really like and work at it and maybe in the years to come your funds to spend will become larger and that set will become more obtainable.
