Default T206 Softening?

Posted By: MVSNYC

well, 12 months ago to the day...common PSA 7's were in the $650-700 range, as of late they usually sell $900-1100 (some for even over $1400 depending on pops, or who needs them)...obviously there are going to be some flukes that slip by for 700-800, but on average they hover around $1000 ($300 more than last year this time)...

4's & 5's seem to be very strong. common 5's routinely sell in the $110-125 range, often more...last year this time, 5's could be found around $80-100.

i just bought 2 PSA 4's on eBay- one was an old mill for $80 and a sweet caporal for $65...those prices seem pretty strong to me for PSA 4's...

rare backs have been on fire (a PSA 3 carolina brights just ended tonight on eBay for around $450!...i bought PSA 3, 2 months ago for $250)...

higher grade pieces (8's & 9's) can be a little more eratic, just because the bidding always depends on who needs what & pops...but that type of material is always in demand.

T206 market might be volitle at times, but is still very strong IMO.

P.S. T206 collector- i have usually found that PSA commands a premium over SGC as far as T206 cards go...not surprised about the Doyle SGC 5.

last week there were 2 SGC 7 commons with buy it now's for 695 & 795, they just sat there for awhile...meantime PSA 7's were selling for well over $1000...
