He is easy to spot on photographs of Michigan's national championship teams from the early 1930's. He was one of America's most unusual presidents, having never been elected to anything other than the Senate. But he seemed like a decent soul, something the country needed after the fiascos of his predecessor. Also was the oldest president ever, a couple of months older than Reagan was when he died.
