I remember very clearly an article in SCD many years ago concluding that the 52 Topps Mantle was a triple print, and it was listed that way in the Standard Catalog for awhile. But it has been listed as a double print for a long time now. I can't remember what the basis was for concluding it was a triple print. And since SCD has been listing it as a double print in their Standard Catalog, I think it's safe to say they no longer stand by their original analysis. So, I guess I'll join the consensus that it's just a double print.
