barrysloateDylan- I don't think you are going to get black marker off the back, so don't even try. Regarding the pencil marks, just do it lightly at first and don't apply too much pressure until you feel a little more confident. I am assuming that you are not trying this first on a Cobb, but instead on a common. If you make a mistake with a common, you're out $10. Life goes on. And I wish to add that I believe erasing a pencil mark is an acceptable practice.
