BobHi Rob. I knew it wasn't personal as no one knew it was me who was the guy who bought the card. The seller lied to me then, he said his 15 year old son sold the card without his knowledge and thought he was doing his father a favor. I thought that sounded lame, especially since he emailed me in all caps and the ad was made in all caps. There were other tell-tale signs I was lied to after he determined he had not sold it for enough but I figured it was too big of a hassle to push it. If he gets it graded it will come back an SGC 10, no better.
He was referring to his 2007 SCD catalogue for a price and it says $600 for an EX card, thus $165 for a poor to fair card would be a decent price. Yes we know SCD is too low on prices for many prewar cards but that's their fault, not ours.
On a brighter note, Neal (greenmonster) emailed me today that he had found a Tattoo Orbit Cissell which I had been looking for with a BIN of $39.99, looks ex but tiny corner crease. It's been a tough one to find so I did manage to snare a card I needed. Many thanks to Neal who was one collector helping out another.
