gregI have a framed copy of the 1918 Boston Globe announcing the Red Sox as World Champions. It has been placed in a sleeve mounted to a backing, which sits perfectly behind the matting. Fortunately, it is the front piece so it does not need to be folded other than how it was folded in 1918.
I would recommend not cutting your newspaper. I would love to display the full page of Ruth on the back page of my newspaper, but can't...so I keep the back accessible for when, or if, I want to look at it. You may want to just keep your paper protected in a sleeve.
Hope this helps,
Greg
