Even though I'm also a Kentuckian....I have spent MUCH time in Manhattan and find it one of my favorite places away from Kentucky, who MUCH of the known world has some ill-conceived thoughts about as well. I've found many of the stereotypes of New Yorkas to be incorrect and overall it's a great place. Other than getting sideswiped by a NY taxi who later drove off and getting a parking ticket in Greenwich Village, Manhattan is one of my favorite places. My 14 year old wants to be a lawyer and live in Manhattan (something you don't hear of too much) and I'm hoping he makes it so I have a place to visit in retirement!
