Like you, I too associated favorite #'s with BB players' uniform #s.

Since I was a Yankee fan and 11 was my favorite #, one of my favorite Yankees
was Joe Page (who wore #11). He was a tremendous Relief Pitcher who greatly
helped the Yankees win their 1947 and 1949 World Championships.

Joe would come in as early as the 6th inning and completely "shut down" the opposing
team. Page was the set-up man and the closer wrapped up in one guy.

And, like you, another number that became my favorite was #27......Johnny Lindell.
Johnny hit the HR to win the play-off game vs Red Sox in the 1949 season to put the
Yankees into the World Series. I still recall that event as if it was just yesterday.
