John, what is the source that this was intentional please?

I understand Mays was aggressive, but many players of the era had miserable dispositions. Wonder if there were any stats back then, ie; % Batter's struck/pitcher.


Some of the factors in that tragedy;

1. Submarine spitballer. Ball rises from low on the mound
2. Of course, no batting helmets.
3. Chapman reportedly crowding the plate.
