Ozzie Smith got to a lot of balls others had no chance at, but he was such a revered fielder in his playing days, that I suspect he did not get charged with errors that lesser fielders would have been charged with.

I can hear the official scorers now: "If Ozzie couldn't hold on to it, it must be a hit."
