Default A Troubling Hobby Developement

Posted By: Al C.risafulli

This is precisely the reason why I COLLECT cards and don't INVEST in them. The only "investment" I make in baseball cards is an emotional one; shelling out money requires some degree of available funds, but I try and do it only with disposable income or with money I generate from the sale of other cards.

I "invest" in more traditional places, with funds that I would like to see grow over time.

It's nice to know that today, if I wanted to recoup some of the money I've put into my collection, I could. But if the bottom fell out of the hobby tomorrow, I would still have the same thing I have today - a collection of baseball cards. And with prices even lower, I'd be able to buy even more!
