Default E Card Sizes

I have two E101 cards one graded (SGC), one raw. The graded card measures 1/16" short top to bottom. The raw card measures 1/16" short left to right. I've looked the raw card over and it doesn't appear trimmed.

Is it common that the E card sizes vary from card to card, and from what is considered the "standard" size?

I haven't handled enough of them to know.
