At first glance,it looks like a piece of mounting tissue.If you are lucky,it is reversable tissue that can be removed by applying heat with a non stick blotter in between the heat source and the tissue.If it a standard mounting tissue,an adhesive solvent like "Unseal" or "Bestine" will release it. If it is a rice paper hinge,it can be removed by steaming.Rice paper hinges are the best "archival" hinge that can be used.
