Cedar Point can be a ton of fun, but weekend days during summer can be the worst time to go. Crowds are horrendous, and the last time my sister went (a few years ago) they literally went on 5 rides the entire day. The rest of the time was spent waiting in lines.

Best time to go is weekday in early June, before schools are out for summer. I've done that and walked up to roller coasters, or spent 30 minutes max in line for the newer ones.

But that's not feasible w/Nat'l scheduled in summmer, so ... if there is a way for people to go on the Wed or Thursday of that week, you might find you get more for your dollar that way.

The Toledo Mudhens are classic. Also, Pittsburgh is quite close too, as a different option.
