Default e183 Heisel's gum cards..early 1800's

Posted By: leon

I don't really know much about this series as it doesn't have any baseball related cards but with a quick search of a few resources I found a few things that could help a little.

Levi Morton
Republican
Served under Benjamin Harrison
1889-1893
Born: 1824 Died: 1920
Shoreline Vermont
Occupation: Teacher-Businessman
Married

So since he served as VP in 1889 my guess is that is about when the card was made. (I think I saw a pic of your card Toby but don't remember it). Jeff Burdick didn't put years in his Catalogue so it would be tough to tell a specific year from it without more info. Heisel's Gums is a category in the ACC. It goes from E180-E184. E183 is the designation for Nominee or Party gum, candidate photo's, (1 or 2) ... The others are E180 Actress Gum- small sepia. E181 which is Candidates (Campaign Gum) blue star edge. E182 Children (Ideal Gum) blue edge and E184 Photo Gum (actresses) sm. photos. Hope this helps a little.....
