FYSWe should applaud him bidding on modern cards. The hobby needs to continue and new individuals need to be attracted. What better way than a public figure jumping in on a modern craze when he knows full well that this specific card could be obtained much cheaper in the next few years.
If his bidding on this card or the publicy garnered from the purchase, pulls in one person that becomes a contributing collector, he has done more than most.
