I am really a young collector at 22. I don't have the extra expense that children bring as of yet, (will happen sooner than later if my future wife has anything to say about it). I agree with Steve buying lots and selling everything but a few you want helps to cover some cost. Also trading, and even selling off some items to afford other cards that that you want more. It is hard to collect on a budget but it can be done.
