JimBWhen I was working on my set, I was mostly buying ungraded cards - at least for the commons. I accumulated most of my set before the advent of ebay and grading. But even the last 100 or so I bought in this way at shows and from dealers that I knew and trusted. In the past ten years or so, the HOFs and more expensive cards that I bought were graded. But I like having the majority of my set ugraded so that I can flip through a notebook and look at them. For all the graded cards I have made color photocopies and put them in the appropriate place in the notebook.
