Default 1911 T-3 Question........

Posted By: jay wolt

As Keith suggested, I do chart prices on T3's.
But stating a value of a specific card in a
graded holder is hard.
Here are some examples to prove that point,
all prices stated below are from eBay
auctions and all are for commons and all are
PSA-5 graded cards.
I'll list the ones that went for over $1000.

Harry Lord #2481.00
Rube Manning $1825.00
Tommy Leach $1701.99
Al Bridwell $1492.00
George Mullin $1430.00
Hans Lobert $1425.00
Bill Bergen $1403.00
Tom Downey $1125.99
Ira Thomas $1176.00
Peaches Graham $1115.00
Johnny Kling $1115.00
Ira Thomas $1009.99

Does it mean this is what they are worth? No!
Just what they went at that time as the aggressive collectors
fought it out.

Results will be entirely different if the same cards were eBay'd today.

Here is a great illustration, there are 2 PSA-6 George Gibson's graded.
Ironically both were eBay'd 6 days apart.
The first one ended Jan 16th and the big boys battled it out
and it went for $3049.00, the next one ended on Jan 22 and went
for $1795.00. Naturally, a big bidder was out of the picture since he
acquired his own a few days earlier.

This is the problem determing value on eBay, the top 2 bidders
dictate the price. On a Mantle card thats been offfered on eBay
a 100 times, you can determine a value, and be very accurate.
On a Peaches Graham that may have been offered twice, no one knows
what the 3rd time will bring.
I've picked up 6 PSA-5 commons at different times for under $500.
And will not participate in the high $ bidding.
The Tommy Leach above went for $1700+
My PSA-3 version looks awfully good and my cost, $187.!
