Default Help with old Yankees Memorabilia

I am Ted....I was just correcting Gil, in his prior post
to you, when he said to Joe Black....instead of Joe Page.

Joe Page was one of the greatest post-War relief pitchers.
However, he had a very short career. He would be brought
into the game in the 6th inning and totally shut-down the
opposing team hitters for 4-innings. His two most effective
years were 1947 and 1949. In 1947 he won the 7th and final
game of one of the most exciting World Series ever played
to beat the Dodgers.

I am sure your Grandfather, being a pitcher, was very impres-
sed with Joe Page in 1949.
