With Reynolds, Raschi, Byrne and Lopat as starters winning a game a piece, and Joe Black mopping up as needed; the remainder of the Yankee pitching staff only took part in warming up and cheering.

And there was a lot to cheer. 1949 was the first of five consecutive World Series wins for the Yankees. No other team has ever done that. I am glad that youre grandfather was a part of it.

To also have memoribilia from that important piece of history is something to treasure beyond its monetary value.
