Its an interesting topic... I think I clearly fall under at least 2 categories (I'm sure I'm not alone) Sets and HOFers...

.... At this stage I think the investment aspect figures into it to some degree or another for most (if not all) vintage collectors, whether or not we want to admit it or not.


Still, is investing for resale (at least the primary goal) even the same thing as collecting ?

I also think that the hording category sort of eludes the question -- "what are you hording?" sets? HOFers ? Rare Type cards ? Brooklyn Dodgers ? Catchers ? Cards you think are a good investment or can be graded and flipped profitably ?


I also think the word "hording" has a much less positive connotation than "collecting"
