Default What's wrong with photo cards grading standards

I guess I just can't understand how they do not consider the photo clarity - or, at the very least, have a "minimum clarity" guideline for each particular grade. If the contrast is not sharp and distinct, no way should the card be above a 5 or 6, for example. Obviously it is a subjective standard - but much of grading is. This card has the eye appeal of a 1 - and thankfully most informed collectors would not pay any slabbed premium on an example like this, simply because it is a 3.
