I can easily think of 1,000 "hypothetical" cards that would command more than $100,000 at auction, like a PSA 10 1914 Cracker Jack Matty or a PSA 10 T206 Cobb w/Cobb back (or probably ANY of the backs at that grade)...

but I was trying to focus SOLELY on public auctions that have actually taken place.


I am also trying to avoid PRIVATE SALES because of how nebulous and vague those are.

If ONE person is a sucker and gets ripped off (i.e., the Tiger Woods card)... that does NOT give a true indication of the market value of the card like a public auction would.
