I think that offer would have been more fair to him than to you. I had said that this card shouldn't go for more than $150 but I don't think it would even sell for that much with all the damage on the front. If SGC were to reslab it that might make a bit of a difference however.

Also, keep in mind that only a specialized collector would be interested in something like this. I sort of like collecting the oddball cards from various caramel sets but wouldn't pay $150 for this card.

Also, one other thing...I believe most if not all of the blank-backed e95s and e96s that have been found have been classified as Notebook cards and not proofs. There are maybe one or two exceptions such as the Cobb that was cut off a scorecard. Someone else may correct me on this but I don't believe a "proof" for either of these sets really exists. This Lajoie, in effect, is simply a glorified "strip card".
