I was intentionally vague in not defining "importance" so that people could understand it as they wish. Maybe that was a mistake.

I agree and had a hard time not including either the '49 Leaf or '49 Bowman Jackie Robinson. It should be there too. I think the '54 Aaron and '51 Mays are contenders as well. Maybe I should define the parameters a little better.

Why don't we say pre-1957 to pull a number out of a hat. I choose that date as that is the first year when cards were printed in their modern size.
