I am sure I am going to catch a lot of flak amongst Beatles lovers, but I look at it this way. Ruth was one of the greatest at his profession. John Lennon was an average guitarist, singer imo, (OK, he was a decent songwriter), so I give the edge to Ruth.

A better comparison would be Ruth vs. Hendrix (two of the greatest at their craft).

I admit I am a little biased as I always thought the Beatles were overrated.
