Texas TedI signed a contract with ebay to sell there that states that I have read the rules and will abide by them. One of the rules is that I will not end an auction to sell for a higher amount to avoid the fees. Apparently foxes like you don't consider your word to be anything but hot air, but to me my word is my bond.
Ebay provides the absolutely only venue of its kind for me to have a business to sell cards this cheaply. Sure I could have a website and somehow attract folks like magic, or open a big auction business and have instant attention or build a building, hire people, advertise and somehow have people flock to my little store. Sure. But at what cost. Ebay is an instant business that I can run simply, by myself, not only when but where I want to do it at a cost that is only dependent on the business I do. It behooves me to not only wish them success, but to eagerly follow their rules so they stay in business a long time.
One other thing. I do not blame a person who asks to end an auction early with trying. They can only ask, and I can say no. My issue is with the sellers that say yes.
