I think that Riggs Stephenson was a part of the strength that the Cubs flexed in the 30s. But he was in the shadows with a .336 lifetime average. The shadows of Hartnett, Hack Wilson, Hornsby, Cuyler, Billy and Babe Herman and others. In that group you can lose a .336 hitter who only got 4500 at bats in his career.
