So now here's the question: if we started a new poll- What would collectors rather own, a key player's rookie card or his pre-rookie, which one would win? Obviously a few ground rules would need to be in effect; a Modesto McGwire is a piece of junk ( I hear you have to pay someone to take them from you), but an N172 Kid Nichols is not. It may not be his major league rookie card, but it is highly coveted nonetheless. I'll go first -Pre-Rookie. Others may follow.
