I must respectfully disagree. Having tracked most OJ auctions on Ebay and also sold quite a few (and participated in most of the large off-line auctions), "common" PSA 6's can be purchased in the $400-$450 range and "common" PSA 7's can be purchased in the $600-$700 range. The prices you are quoting are prices that are direct retail - not auction. There are however large price spikes which can bring prices in the ranges you were talking about when two collectors duel it out or when the pose or player is not a "common." My 2 cents worth.
