Judge Dred (Fred)I suppose he means that if you were to crack the holder, remove the card, remove the paper remnant and clean the stain the card may come back as a 4 (or even higher). Sometimes those remnants come off pretty easy, but if they don't you're going to get stuck with a 1 or 2 (probably 2) because of the paper loss. If you were to wipe the stain clean with a little water then that really wouldn't count as altering the card. The use of chemicals may be frowned upon buy distilled water is usually acceptable. I suppose you could clean off the remnant and the stain and take your chances. Who knows, with the consistently inconsistent graders the card may come back as a 3 after all has been cleaned.
