just to clarify...

I'm not encouraging the motivation of "protecting an investment" .... I wouldn't go so far as to consider it shill bidding if the idea is placing a high bid early to "knock out" certain bidders, although in certain instances it certainly can be considered. At the end of the day..my point still stands...bidding early is not a smart idea.
