While I understand why some people should not use buy it now if they do not know the value of their auction, I think it is a great tool that is underused by sellers. I have definitely used BIN as a buyer on things where the price was a little higher than I would have liked to pay, but am able to avoid having to get into a bidding war, which is sometimes a real turnoff.

I guess I am just surprised that more sellers who know the value of what they have do not use it to try to get the highest price out of the highest bidder. After all, the way ebay works, the seller is only getting a marginal increase over the SECOND highest bidder's bid.

BIN and the B/S/T thread are the reasons I keep coming back to this site and ebay many many many many many many times a day...
