I've definitely had moments of regret after buying cards, but mostly when I broke my own price records, so to speak. The first $500 card...the first $1000 card. The funny thing is, looking back, I have no regrets and in many cases those prices paid look like great deals. I'm a collector, so I wish prices would freaking stand still.
