I am mainly a set collector. After 26 years of completing the
major sets (1887 - 1978), I decided to try the M116 set. Back
in 1995, I had 17 of the BLUE variations from this set, so why
not start. Well, by 1997 I had accumulated 265 different cards,
or over 90% of the set.
That year I took it to the Philly Show and displayed it on my
table. Still hoping to acquire the two dozen (or so) cards to
to have a complete set. It didn't happen. Several dealers made
me offers I found very hard to resist; so, I sold the near com-
plete set (I kept the Blue variations) to the dealer with the
highest offer.
I don't even want to imagine what I would be offered currently
for these cards.
