MWMy belief is that three distinct groups of Bond Bread cards exist:
1. Those which have rounded corners and were produced in 1947.
2. Those which have square corners and were produced in 1947 (but perhaps never meant for distribution).
3. Those which have square corners and were illegally reprinted.
The Standard Catalog somewhat blurs the distinction between groups 2 & 3 and according to various hobby sources, there are indeed valid reasons to believe that all square-corner cards might be illegally reprinted.
I tend to believe that some of the square-corner cards are legit as I've seen them in various states of wear in original collections. It is also my belief that there has been some fairly recently reprinting (even after the 1980s warehouse find) of the 1947 Bond Bread issue. As a result, if one is uncertain and wants to avoid the risk of acquiring relatively worthless reprinted cards, it is probably best to only purchase cards with rounded corners.
