Default "The eBay Effect"

Posted By: Dan E

Ebay has it's up's and down's, however, without it a lot of us would not have amassed even close to what we have. Only recently have the auction houses become "mainstream" for folks like me as well. I feel that with the two, there is a fine balance and as always the buyer must beware. As the old saying says "A FOOL AND HIS MONEY SHALL SOON BE PARTED" < or something close to that.

Despite owning a couple thousand shares of Ebay, I do agree that their fees are out of hand and that they are potentially setting themselves up for a competitive company to make a run at them. I think that will surely help out the fees, kind of a Blockbuster vs. Netflix, amazing how fast the late fees went away when Netflix got in to the mix of things. The competition has made Blockbuster a better company in the long run. My wife and I should own our own Blockbuster with all those late fees that we have paid over the years.
