In that case, it all depends on your preference...mine would be signed straight across.

I remember a baseball art contest in a very old Beckett (probably early 90's) in which someone did a painting of a '52 Topps Feller, but left the signiture area blank. The artist then took it to a card show and had Feller sign in the spot where the facsimile would have gone.
