Bob RousseauMy favorites visually are the action ones with orange skies like the Pattee, Burch batting, Bob Ewing, Deacon Phillippe, Wild Bill Donovan, Joe Birmingham, Ed Konetchy, Cobb batt off, Evers batting, Tinker hands on knees and bat on shoulder, etc. I've got Dineen- another orange sky one- but what's amazing is looking at how they colored his cheeks. And then you've got something like Frank Oberlin with a pink sky- very psychedelic- about 57 years ahead of its time!
I also like the yellowish skies with Pfeffer, Chick Gandil, Tom Needham, some of the classic portraits like Matty, Walter Johnson- and action ones of Matty, McGraw with hands on hips, Germaney Schaefer, Rube Waddell throwing, Cobb bat off. Finally, I like the even more pastoral ones like McQuilan, Rube Oldring- I call those the "Field of Dreams" images with the players in a field seemingly at dusk. Those color schemes and 'pastoral' backgrounds are what also drew me to collect Obaks, even though they were definitely players I wasn't familiar with.
