Lelands June 2005 auction is up and there are a lot of cool stuff as usual. There is a Josh Gibson card decribed as one of the finest baseball cards in the world.

We talked about this card before and I think the concensus was that the image is definitely Josh Gibson because his son Josh Jr. was scrawnier.

My question is whether the entire set was meant for contemporary players at the time. Ryan's website has a checklist of 180 different players in this set. Does anyone know whether any other player in this set was retired or deceased at the time of issue?
