davidcyclebackSome of the recent living Hall of Famer certified autographed insert cards are nice ... The ones where they were paid to sign directly on the card, not the ones with cuts. It's a nice way for a collector to purchase a genuine autograph of a Nolan Ryan or Al Kaline or Willie Stargell.
There's nothing wrong with purchasing today's shiney insert cards (and I think it's condisending to chastise someone for collecting modern stuff), so long as the collectors realize that nearly all of the current stuff will fall in price as time goes by (usually excluding a suprise hot rookie). With modern inserts, it is always this years' cards that are in great demand. And it doesn't take long for this years' cards to become last years' cards.
