Default W590 Research Help

Posted By: Paul

I don't know how rare it is or what it's worth. I do know (1) I've never seen another, and (2) I bought it for about $25 two or three years ago through an ad in SCD. I remember calling the dealer on the phone to buy his W590 Alexander. He got out the card to look at it (I probably asked about the condition) and he said, "oh, that's interesting, he is listed with the House of David team, how strange." Once in a while, you get lucky.

I suspect it would now sell for a lot just because there is incredible interest right now in "interesting" cards that have something just a little bit different about them. Everyone loves the "Old" Cy Young card, just because it calls him "Old" Cy Young. (I've wanted that card for that very reason for more than 10 years and foolishly passed it up when it was less popular). Everyone also seems to be paying huge amounts of cash for Zeenut Hall of Famers. The same is true of the more offbeat Old Judges, like the cards featuring the mascots (alone or with players), and the Whitney and Dog card. I suspect the same would be true of the Alexander.
