If there is one thing that I have learned in my short stint with pre-war cards is that the price guide means nothing. I have seen cards that "book" for $200 go for $400 and the same card then sell for $100. It is all a matter has who sees it for sale and wants it the most. A bidding war has taken cards that "book" low realize a very high price for it. If I want it bad enough I'll pay three times "book" value for it. And now who has the e95 Cicotte that they are willing to sell me for low book Or the Evers for that matter
