First of all, it isn't a scan, it is a digital photo. Much of what has been commented upon results from foreshortening when you take a picture from a single point. That's why the card looks bigger at the bottom and darker/muddier at the top. Scanners don't have that problem because they move over the full surface of the item from the same distance throughout.

Second, the very white scan posted here looks like it has been color-corrected using an automatic color correcting program. My program does the same thing to tight scans of W cards, completely washes then out. Many scanners are set to automatically color correct, BTW. You have to manually turn off that option.

I bailed out of the bidding on this card (pulled my snipe) not because I felt it was potentially fake but because I felt it was getting too high given the scan quality. I'd rather pay a bit more for a Fatima Cleveland team card and get a real photo image of JJ.
