Default T204 TTT's

Posted By: Peter Thomas

Between the TTT's that Scott and I have and ones that we know of and the duplicates we know a standard deviation indicates that there are likely 53 cards with TTT backs. The number of cards is likely related to the way the cards were printed. The 121 cards without the 6 known square bordered cards could have been printed in a single sheet of 121 cards (22" x 27-1/2") or two sheets of 55 cards (10" x 27-1/2" or (12-1/2" x 22") and 66 cards (12 x 27-1/2" or 15" x 22") The fronts of all TTT backs are the same as the fronts of the corresponding Ramly backs. The six known players with square bordered cards all have cards with TTT backs. There is suposidly also a Howard square bordered card, but Scott and I are sceptical that this card exists. Howard does not have a known TTT back.

Contradicting the two sheet printing theory is lot # 614 in the November 1998 Masto auction. That lot had 41 high braded SGC "oversized" high grade cards cut from an 80 card sheet that Frank Nagy bought at a show in New York in the 1970's. I have a Plank card that I beleve is from this sheet it is very oversized at 2-1/16+ x 2-9/16+. I have tried to get this card graded by Both PSA and SGC and it has been regected as "evid/trim". As I understand it SGC now wishes that they had not graded these cards. The 80 card sheet could have been cut from a 121 card sheet. I think that it is likely thet the 80 card sheet was some kind of a printers test with much greater spacing between the immages.

Anyway much to be determined any info welcome.

Peter
