One of Pro Football Hall of Famer Chuck Bednarick's many grudges and complaints is that the Eagles owner didn't buy 100 of his books from from to give as gifts to the players. Perhaps I misread Miss Manners, but doesn't a 'gift' mean you give away the books for free, rather than expecting someone to pay you for them?
